So what can you expect from a place this far off the beaten path? What can the Windmill Ranch Preserve provide for the adventuring guest? Comfort, good food and hospitality at the People Place and solitude in the night, if you so choose.
If you opt to stay in a guest room right at the Windmill, your quarters will be a charming combination of rustic simplicity and modern convenience. You will enjoy a good night's rest on a comfortable bed with crisp linens. The private bath is eclectically appointed with talavera lavatories set in antique vanities.

First thing in the morning, you will be served with fresh hot coffee and assorted breads at your guest room door.

Cool off or warm up, depending on the season, in our custom-designed Windmill Ranch Preserve pool under our trademark windmill and emerging grapevines.
There are sunsets and the silence of the starry night to be shared. Sculpted paths await guests, bird watching stations with binoculars invite you in to sit and observe.

If you want something a bit more free-spirited, try one of our furnished walled tents. Don't let the word "tent" scare you. These tents are off the ground with massive decking and private front porches. Each tent includes a private bath featuring a lavatory and shower with hot and cold running water and a flush commode. Distinctive furnishings describe these safari tents. Inviting beds with layers of linens, bedside tables and lamps, rugs, comfy chairs with ottomans, a wood-burning stove; these are our favorite things for an exceptional adventure at the Windmill Ranch Preserve.

The People Place Pavilion is designed for multi-tasking . . . . . for inside dining when the wind is blowing, movie festivals, cowboy poetry sessions, music and dancing, workshops for photographers, artists, nature enthusiasts, meetings and more.
The only boundaries at WRP are the ones you set for yourself. You are welcome to stay a night, two nights, a week. We are committed to showing you a part of Texas that is unique.
Allow yourself to sit under the stars, listen to the sounds and walk the land. You will be changed.
